Nonstick mower deck
If the underside of your lawn mower develops a thick crust of grass clippings, scrub it clean and then give it a coat of spray lubricant. Products that contain silicone or Teflon works best and cost about $5 at home centers and hardware stores.

Colored compound for touch-ups
After applying a final coat of joint compound on drywall, you'll probably find a few minor scratches and craters. Before you fill these blemishes, mix a few drops of food coloring into joint compound. That way, the patches will stand out from the surrounding joint compound and you won't miss them during the final touch-up sanding. To prevent the color from bleeding through, spot-prime the patches with a stain-blocking primer.
